Spring hits Alaska...

Spring is in the air here in Southeast Alaska !

Today I started doing tune ups and repairs on the schools bikes..

10 out of 25 done !

Yep - It's a fixie....

We are not much into fixies - but as it goes - we here at Re-Cycled built one anyway - It's just too goddamn easy . BUT - there is a freewheel gear on its way via the post office - so this will soon be a single speed with a front brake .... I think its a pretty good example of the flavor of the day - Props to Kati for doing a bang up job on recycling this old bike.....

Still need to make up the brake cable

But this just goes to show - fixing old stuff is possible and instead of buying some expensive bike made in china - look around - This bike was built with almost all recycled parts - the tires , chain , seat and grips are the only new parts...... but after a little effort - it looks and rides like new .

Old Raleigh will do....

I really want a Surly Cross Check frame for my next bike . But - I just can't make it off my wallet right now . My buddy Dave had this mid 80's Raleigh kickin around - so It will have to do for now.

It will be a simple bike , but I am going to take some time on the frame . I allready have it all apart - except for the friggin seat post .... A torch and a vise and I'll have it out soon. I hope to sandblast next week .

The camper is an old one but real clean and dry inside . It has a propane oven with cook top - as good as new. Microwave , 12v fridge , two deep cycle batteries , 10 gallon fresh water tank , tons of storage .All windows are good , no leaks in roof .

Air conditioner works great , double stainless steel sink .

no bathroom , no hot water tank . Full propane tank.

The truck is a daily driver 

Both Batteries are load tested and good , Alternator just tested and good .

The front end is a Twin Traction Beam Dana and it is tired - needs some work .

The driver side window motor is having some issues getting the window up and down

NEW air filter , new fuel filter , oil and oil filter changed ( $148) - 3/2012.

NEW Starter - replaced 3/2012 ($250)
